Grady Watts, Vice President
For the past
twenty years, Grady Watts has produced and directed
documentaries and more recently, Internet web
applications. His programs have been broadcast
nationally and distributed extensively to non-broadcast
audiences as well. In recent years, his work
has focused increasingly on health education,
promoting patient empowerment and self-management
of chronic illness through coordinated video,
print and Internet campaigns.
His three part
series "Well into Your Future" is
currently airing on PBS. Funded by the National
Institute for Mental Health, the series focuses
on the mental health challenges of aging, including
depression, substance abuse, and caregiving for
Alzheimer's disease. One part of the series is
hosted by University of Michigan professor Robert
Kahn, co-author of the landmark MacArthur Foundation
study on aging in America, and the bestseller "Successful
Aging". The series has received the 2003 "Freddie" award.
Currently,
he is in production on a two-part series for
PBS on self-management of cardiovascular
disease, which is funded by the National Heart
Lung and Blood Institute.
Mr. Watts was
educated at Harvard University, B.A.and the Stanford
University
Graduate School
of Communication, M.A. and lives with his
wife and two daughters in Washington, DC.
