Nina
Nina, 17, lost her birth family to AIDS and drug addiction.
She lives with her adoptive mother Lori, who encouraged
her to seek individual counseling. Nina has disclosed
her status to her classmates, and is entering her
senior year in high school.
Terrence
Terrence is 21 years old and lives alone in Washington,
DC. He has struggled with depression and issues around
sexuality since high school. He attends a support
group for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender
youth, and
has individual therapy.
Dottie
At 16, Dottie was pregnant, homeless, and HIV+. She
moved into a group home, got her GED, and now works
at the group home helping out other young women
who are HIV+. Now 23, she owns her own house, is
active
in her church, and has reconciled with her mother.
