For Men and Their Families: The Module

A secure and confidential Internet communication and support tool devoted exclusively to providing men diagnosed with prostate cancer and their families with the information resources and emotional support that are critical for them to cope with their disease. It offers:

1. Access to personalized community support groups through a secure bulletin board
2. Streamed video clips of interviews of men with prostate cancer
3. A prostate cancer risk assessment tool for undiagnosed men and their families
4. One-on-one “partners in recovery” mentoring by experienced prostate cancer survivors
5. Treatment Decision Assistant that allows users to cross reference their own opinions, attitudes, risk tolerance, health status with the standard treatment options to ascertain which treatment may be most appropriate for them. This feature outputs a list of questions for users to bring to their physician.
